SURVIVING CHICAGO TEE
$35.00
The SURVIVING CHICAGO TEE
Most people associate Chicago’s drill scene with O'Block’s rise to stardom in 2010-2011. But the roots of what became drill were actually planted earlier, with Bump J, whose career was derailed by a robbery in 2009.
Fast forward to 2013, and drill fully evolved as new artists began dropping breakthrough projects. This era paved the way for modern Chicago drill, which leans more toward 808s & Heartbreak for the major artists, and Get Rich or Die Tryin’ for the independent artists still trying to escape the hood.
Still, the themes remain the same: in Chicago, survival is a daily battle, and making it past 30 is a rarity.
